Rather a sad story.
Parents John and Mary Ann Tarr married in 1867 Dulverton Somerset.
They had 3 daughters
Ellen born 1867
Rhoda born 1868
Emily born 1870.
In 1872 their mother Mary Ann dies.
From what I can find so far in 1881 the family is separated. Father John is boarding with George Tarr and his family in South Molton Devon. On the census apart from saying lodging gives no mention if they are related. But both born in Knowstone, Devon. John has not remarried.
Ellen is living with another John Tarr and his wife Hariett in Knowstone. only says she is a relative
Rhoda is living in Dulverton with William and Charity Tarr, Uncle and Aunt.
Emily living in Dulverton with Robert and Sarah Adams, Uncle and Aunt.
We can all guess at various reasons why it happened, but one wanders how often the 2 girls who lived in Dulveton saw their elder sister and father.
Also how the families that they were living with are connected.
