...Love Lambert that is born 1841 to James & Ann in Haydon Dorset.

Specifically looking for her in 1871 with or without a son called William Henry - father William Pallister per his baptism 12 Dec 1859 in London.

What they were doing in London I have no idea as mother and son are back with the family in Dorset by 1861. She was unmarried by the way.

Baptism states William Henry Pallister father William Pallister mother Love Lambert.

Love marries Samuel Harding in 1874.

Thanks Edna that poses a lot more questions  scratch

What happened to William Barding - did he die before she married again or was she a bigamist  Shocked

The 1868 marriage to William  Like a Star @ heaven on BMD doesn't give a spouse and I can't find it anywhere else to see more information.

If all was above board and she was a widow by 1874 why would she marry using her maiden name?

Like a Star @ heaven Unless the spouse wasn't her and she was just calling herself his wife?

If I've searched correctly the brides for the Mar 1868 Dorchester marriage were Ann Gillman & Margaret Jane McDonald.
Other groom John Crossley.

So William must have married one of those ladies not Love. At least that rules her out as a bigamist.

So who was the Brother on that Census named Barding and supposedly born the same place as Love, sorry I don't have it in front of me now.

The son William born London fits so maybe she was just living as man and wife without a marriage.

I am so out of practice even on Familysearch these days, sorry I cant be of further help

It was John age 26 born Gillingham but there are no births for a John Barding in Dorset. Nor a William come to that. Or anyone called Barding for the right time period.

Doesn't seem to be the same William Barding who marries in 1868 because he is on lots of family trees and elsewhere in 1871.

Could be the boys father William Pallister back on the scene with a new identity  pirat

Not worth worrying about, sister of Love is the direct link and they aren't my family anyway!
