Can anyone help me with the parents of James Allton*, please?
From his burial record in 1829 in Ansley, Warwickshire (where most of his children were born), he was born abt 1754, but where and to whom?
I have his two marriages and various children:
Marriage 1 on 6 Oct 1780 in Mancetter, Warks to Hannah Snape
and
Marriage 2 on 9 Apr 1787 in Mancetter, Warks to Elizabeth Mousley
When I first started with this family history malarkey, someone sent me their research on the Alltons, which I've kept my eye on as I've done my own, but not taken as gospel, although most of it seems to have checked out. It only goes back as far as James, and has him as being b. abt 1754 in Nuneaton, but doesn't have any baptism info for him.
It also states that he has a brother, Henry, b. abt 1749 in Chilvers Coton, Nuneaton, and then details of Henry's marriage (to Mary Coulton in 1771) and children. Haven't checked any of this out because I can't [yet] see a connection between James and Henry.
Can anyone help, please?
Thanks
