There's a burial of a

Sarah Elizabeth Blore
Age 28
of 16 Baker's Buildings
at St Botolph, Billingsgate
on 21 Feb 1847

Have you discounted that one?

Have not come across Sarah before, not sure where Billingsgate is anywhere near Westminster?

Will have to see if I can find Sarah in 1841.

Thanks

No Luck, alot of Sarah's or Elizabeth's but on the 1841 census gives no relationship as you know. There was 1 Elizabeth living on her own but where are the children? Buckingham Palace told me that husband William started work as a Assistant Usher in 1841.

Could this be the children with grandparents in 1841

Simon Blore 70 farmer
Jane Blore 60
Sophia Blore 4
William Blore 3

This is in Derbyshire but Jane is the only one born in County.

Looks hopeful to me  bounce

I suspect this is a wrong 'un as it stands out as being too obvious

Death Mar 1846
Kensington 3 243
Bloor Elizabeth

Can you say which wrong certs you have got siamese Question

I'm thinking she died before 1841 else why would the children be up in Derbyshire with his parents.

I see she was born in Staffordshire and there are a couple of deaths in Staffs, perhaps she was visiting family at the time.

Mar 1838 **
Wolstanton 17 264
Bloor Elizabeth

Mar 1839
Newcastle under Lyme 17 79
Bloor Elizabeth

** Mar 1838 might be too early depending when son was born - yes it is so scrap that one.

Is this William & Hannah Fisher in 1841 because they have a Blore with them.

William - down as Nesher but amended to Fisher - 60
Hannah 63
Ann Blore 7

All down as born Staffs - could this be another daughter we didn't know about Shocked

(Simon Blore 70 farmer
Jane Blore 60
Sophia Blore 4
William Blore 3)

Yes that is correct, forgot the 2 children went to live with their grandparents on the 1841 census.

The 2 death certificates I ordered; one Elizabeth Blore 1845 think it was Chelsea put it on one of the certificates wanted sites could be rootschat and a lady from Malta had it, the other another Elizabeth Blore was in Waterfall Staffordshire in 1845 and that ended up being William's sister only age 25.

When William remarried in 1847 he was down as a widower.  Maybe they were abit lapse about registering the death back then.

Thanks for looking and maybe one day

Where did William & Elizabeth marry?

If it was on her home turf they could have had a child before moving to London - the Ann Blore in 1841 census with William & Hannah Fisher - if those were Elizabeth's parents.

If not big coincidence with the names.

Ann Blore
baptised 17 Aug 1834
Blithfield, Staffs
daughter of William and Elizabeth

I've looked again for a death of Elizabeth between 1838-1841, but there's just nothing obvious Sad

Somebody stop me if I'm going wrong but there's an Ann Blore born Blithefield marrying in Lichfield 1856
Groom Charles Myatt

There's a Sophia Blore marrying in Lichfield 1862
Groom William Heaver

Would need to see who their fathers were, Blore might be a common name in that area

I think the Ann in 1841 is intriguing

Added well done STG so they did have another daughter cheers

15 Re: A large brick wall on Mon Mar 30, 2015 2:03 pm

Sophia Blore
baptised 21 Aug 1836
at
St Marylebone, Westminster

daughter of William and Elizabeth
William is a servant and they are living at 24 Montague St

Name:
William Blore

Gender:
Male

Marriage Date:
28 Apr 1834

Marriage Place:
Blithfield,Stafford,England

Spouse:
Elizabeth Fisher

So they were "with child" if Ann was baptised 17 Aug 1834

What about the death in Holborn Sep 1843 - Elizabeth Bloore - this is hard.

If she was still alive in 1841 then we need a suitable candidate in the census for her.

My feeling is she died before 1841 but no evidence to support that.

19 Re: A large brick wall on Mon Mar 30, 2015 2:39 pm

There's a tree on Ancestry that has Elizabeth as

baptised 15 May 1812
Blithfield
d/o William Fisher and Hannah Abberley

On the marriage cert for Eliz to William Blore (who it says he's from the parish of Leek - I think I read), the witnesses are

Walter Fisher
Hannah Abberley*

* obviously not Elizabeth's mother, but a cousin, perhaps?

BTW, my idea was that if I could find William's baptism, I might find Elizabeth's burial at the same church.  Flaw in that plan was that the burial records for St Mary's Bryanston Square aren't on Ancestry and neither can I find her anywhere else Sad

Let's track their movements see if that helps

They marry in Staffs and are there in 1834

By 1836 they are in London

In 1841 children are with grandparents in Derbyshire/Staffs

so um no that doesn't really help does it

We don't know if Elizabeth died in London and the children were scattered or if she had left William in London and died in Staffs sometime between sons birth and 1841.
Took them all up there perhaps and was back with her parents but they couldn't cope with all 3 so two went to his parents.

Is the Staffs death in 1839 worth looking at?
Newcastle under Lyne - don't know if that's near where her parents lived

What about the burials for her parents

I'm rambling as usual, will go get some dinner and have a think study

I think that Elizabeth Bloor was a 65yo Sad

William Blore's father's (Simon) death cert is on Ancestry.  Swooshing off to see details.

STG

Edit: Simon Blore died of "paralysis" on 16 Dec 1856, age 83, at Bradley, Derbys.  Present at the death was a Joseph Woolley.  Doesn't help, but it might all add up one day ...

William Blore and Elizabeth Fisher married on the 28 April 1834 at Blithfield Parish Church Staffordshire.

Sophia Blore married William Weaver 11 February 1862 Colton Staffordshire.

That's interesting, the witnesses. Walter Fisher was Elizabeth's brother but her mother was called Hannah Abberley before she married William Fisher unless its another Hannah

(There's a Sophia Blore marrying in Lichfield 1862
Groom William Heaver) Heaver could be Weaver.

Witnesses at Sophia's wedding are

John Ainsworth
Ellen Weaver

Interestingly (or perhaps not), Sophia surname is written as Blower, which is crossed out and Blore written above it.  Same for her father William Blower Blore, servant.
