As you have gathered I am checking the Shepherd family.

Where does George Henry Shepherd born 1846 fit in?

Thomas Lovelace Shepherd born 1822 Almondsbury, in 1844 he marries Maria Nash.

On the 1851 census Thomas is working in a house of corruption in Little Dean, they now have 3 children
Edwin age 4
Thomas age 2
Sarah Jane age 1
Wife Maria was born in Coleford, Gloucestershire

On the 1861 census Thomas has changed employment now working as a clerk in Bristol. Wife Maria is now born in Newland, Gloucestershire.
Their surname is spelt Shepland

A few more children
George Henry age 15
Sarah Jane age 11
Ellen Eliza age 7
Wallace J age 4
Herbert age 1
Wife Maria is now born in Newland, Gloucestershire, while in every other census she was born in Coleford, Gloucestershire

Where is Edwin? or and George,
According to the 1861 census George was born in Newland, Gloucestershire, all the other children were either born in Little Dean or Bristol. Edwin and George would of been born in 1846 but in different areas??

Any help would be appreciated.

So we're after George in 1851 and Edwin in 1861 for starters.

Edwin born Dec 1846 Westbury on Severn

George Henry born Jun 1845 Westbury on Severn

Westbury on Severn covers Little Dean.  Doesn't have a Newland but does have a Newnham  Question

Edwin is around later in life with his own family so he doesn't die.

Here's a possible for Edwin in Lyncombe Somerset 1861.

Thomas Bendy 56 unmarried saddler and harness maker
Priscilla Bendy 46 unmarried sister servant
Edwin Shepperd 16 saddler and harness maker (apprentice) born Bristol

Do we know if that was Edwin's occupation later in life?

No wish to cast aspersions but Edwin could be a prisoner in 1881  Shocked

No luck with George Henry yet but with all those little ones maybe parents shipped him off to relatives to lessen the load?

He might be with grandparents - were they still around? Or some other relation.
