Arthur and Sarah Herridge, Bristol, had 5 children

John F born 1873 Brazel (British subject)

Frederick W born 1875 Horfield Bristol

Edith E born 1876

Elizabeth A born 1878

Harry A C born 1879

Its the first 2 I am finding problems with. As John was born aboard did not expect to find a birth reg but cannot find one for Frederick. But on family search found these 2 entries

"Frederick William Herridge
England Births and Christenings
Name: Frederick William Herridge

Birthplace: Bishopston, Gloucester, England
Father's Name: Arthur Herridge
Mother's Name: Sarah Herridge
Indexing Project (Batch) Number: I02534-0 , System Origin: England-EASy , GS Film number: 1596630 , Reference ID: 54"

and

"John Francis Herridge
England Births and Christenings
Name: John Francis Herridge
Gender: Male
Birth Date: 05 Aug 1874
Birthplace: Bishopston, Gloucester, England

Bishopston is a similar part of Bristol

How can they be born on the same day in different countries? Both 1881 and the 1911 census gives Brazil as John's country of birth

All I can think is that they've somehow listed the baptism date as the birth date, especially as there is no separate baptism date shown.

I agree - I think it is just the baptism date.
