Last weekend I was in La Poterie Cap-d'Antifer near Le Havre
for the 70th anniversary of the Bruneval Raid, and the unveiling
of a plaque to commemmorate one the two paratroopers
killed during the raid, Hugh Duncan McDonald McINTYRE who
was born in the town where I now live.
Lots of excellent French ceremony including 30+ flag
bearers from Les Ancient Combatants (think British Legion
in the UK.
Two nieces of Hugh, now living in Canada were there, plus
the C/O of 'C' Company of 2 Para, since then known as
Bruneval Company, plus a sergeant from C Co and a Para
Brigade band bugler who playe the best reveille that I've
ever heard.
I'm not sure if I can post an image .....
.... but I don't need to as there's plenty here -
