Elizabeth Fisher was born on the 15th May 1812 Blithfield, Staffs. On the 28th April 1834 at Blithfield Parish Church she married William Harrison Blore. By 1836 they moved down to Westminster London. Two children were born Sophia born 1836 and William Antil born 1838.
By 1841 the two children were living with their Grandparents in Derbyshire, Simon Blore and his wife Jane (Harrison) where they remained until they married.

Father William had obtained a position at Buckingham Place in 1841, (had confirmation of this from the Royal Archives)

In 1847 William had remarried, his second wife was called Matilda Bartlet and he was discribed as a widower, have marriage certificate.

So when did Elizabeth die? I have already obtained two incorrect death certificates, both for the year 1845, one in London the other in Asbourne

Am at a complete loss to know what happened to her?

Any help would be appreciated.

I remember this one and searching in vain for a death for her.
Was one of the wrong deaths in Derbyshire?

I suppose there is the vague possibility William fibbed that he was a widower when he remarried and Elizabeth died after 1847.

What marital status does William give in 1841?

Probably already ruled out this one but in Chelsea Jun 1847
Elizabeth Blore

The fact the children were with grandparents at such a young age and remained there does Arrow to her having died before 1841.

Yes, I keep trying but its a brick wall I would love to crack as Elizabeth Fisher was my Great Grand Mother x 3.

I have been researching the Blore family, remember she married William Harrison Blore in 1834.

Cannot find William in 1841.

Have now come across this entry IN 1861:

Elizabeth Blore Head Married Female 49 1812 House & Land Proprietor Calton, Staffordshire, England Transcription
Dorothy Oakden Boarder Aunt Unmarried Female 87 1774 Fund Holder Blore, Staffordshire, England

and 1871

First name(s) Last name Relationship Marital status Gender Age Birth year Occupation Birth place
Elizabeth Blore Head - Female 59 1812 - Staffordshire, England

Its the 1861 census that concerns me as the Oakden family seem to be closely connected to the Blore family,

Relationship according to "Tribalpages"

Details: Fisher, Elizabeth's husband's father's brother's wife's sister is Oakden, Dorothy

Is it possible that Elizabeth ran off to Derbyshire, did she have postnatal depression?

The 1861 with Dorothy doesn't say married for Elizabeth it is dittoed as unmarried, least that's how I read it.

Name:

Calton,Stafford,England

Mother:
Mary

In 1851 that Elizabeth is unmarried 39 living with widowed mother Mary.

If we can find her in 1841 can probably rule her out.

She is with her parents in 1841 Smile

The will of Dorothy Oakden died 25 Nov 1863 was proved by the oath of Elizabeth Blore spinster niece.

Need to find another candidate.

I have seen some trees with your Elizabeth dying 1874 but the trees have other errors in so I wouldn't take that as correct anytime soon.

Thanks Tourmie, for looking. Yes I've seen the other trees and wander how much research they have done???

Looks like I can rule Elizabeth out.

Very likely her death was never registered, but one never knows one year with new records appearing

Do you know what date in 1841 he was at Buck House? Does it cover census night? Maybe that census is private that's why we can't find him either.

Do you have the death for daughter Sophia, trees have that around the same time and place as Elizabeth, they might have been reunited and living together and she was the informant but very very long shot.

Sophia married a William Weaver in 1862, she died in 1874. The letter from the Royal Archives only says that William entered entered emplyment into the Royal Household in 1841, no dates, he remained working at the Palace until the 23 November 1859. Regarding the census he is on the 1851 census plus the rest of the staff.

Looking at FMP, Sophia's death was registered at Lichfield. She was buried Colton, St Mary the Virgin, on the 16 July 1874.

Another bit of information. William and Elizabeth had another daughter, Ann born 1834 Blithfield, Staffordshire. Ann was living with her other Grandparents in 1841, William and Hannah Fisher, in 1851 she is working as a servant.

Oh that's sad about Sophia. I see she had young children as well.

Something definitely happened with Elizabeth before 1841, maybe the marriage wasn't a good one and she couldn't cope with 3 young children and ran off.

Would have expected to find a London death if she had died pre 1841 as that's where the youngest were born but scratch

I suppose she could have remarried and died under another name. Very frustrating not being able to find her.

I'll have to leave researching Elizabeth for now and hope one day some new record may come to light. Sad really, the family just split up and when William remarried in 1847 he went on to have a new family and moves to the IOW. .
