1911 look up please

Cannot find this couple on the 1911 census.

Wilfred Highnam born 1875 Oldbury on Severn Gloucestershire and his wife Mary Ann (formerly Pitcher) born 1876 Moreton Gloucestershire. They married in 1909.

Any help would be appreciated.

Were his parents George C and Mary?

If so ancestry links to 1911 Canada * census but surname spelt Highman as in the 1901 not Highnam.

Do you have them after 1911 in this country having children etc?

Winifred's parents were George Cox Highnam and Mary Rugman. So it looks like the couple emmigrated to Canada and he was a widower by 1916, now sad. Thanks for your help

Something not quite right as on ancestry for 1911 census Canada it says his spouse is Mary Highman so not sure he is widowed

Any trace of Mary Highman vron?

Wilfred J and Mary Ann are on passenger list to Montreal but can't see more details. Also a John F Highman.

There's also an Agnes M Highnam age 20 born England emigrated 1908 in Lisgar Manitoba in 1916.

cant see the 1911 census for canada o cant help there.

So it looks like Agnes is a cousin to Wilfred. Wander if the whole family went out to Canada

Regarding relationship the Highnam family are fairly distant, Mary Ann, Wilfred's wife was a cousin to my Grandfather.

agnes will be a niece to wilfred - her father george cox junior is brother to wilfred.


well in 1911 wilfred parents are still in england with one daughter mary ann

the only highnams on the 1916 in manitoba are the ones already mentioned.

Looks like Agnes's full name was Agnes Mary Highnam born 1896 Oldbury Gloucestershire, and it looks like her parents George Cox Highnam and wife Ada went out as well. See Ada (formerly Bennett )was born in London, the Highnam's were all farmers so wander how or when they met. Something I will very likely not know.
