My Great Grandfather x 3 James Williams born 1767 (c) Olveston Gloucestershire, married Mary Thomas in 1767 St Michael, Bristol.

I really would like to confirm this as several trees on ancestry have different information on their trees, I have e-mailed them with no reply so far.

I found the marriage record on familysearch, Batch no V00035-5. I have also visited the Bristol Record Office and with so many James and Mary's I did not get very far.

These trees have James Williams married to Mary Thomas but totally different children, the children I have are

James born 1801 Olveston
George born 1802
Joseph born 1806
Mary born 1808
John born 1816

I do have the death certficate for George Williams he died in 1856 age 84, a widower, his wife Mary died in 1829.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi

1. Does the death certificate give any info about children (i.e. did one of them register the death)?

2. "your" James was b. Olveston in 1801, but you don't say where the others were born?

3. Where did you get the info for (2) above from, please?

Am out for most of the day now, but will try to look tonight when I'm back, fed and watered.

Hi STG

First I realised I had given you his wrong birth year, it was 1772 not 1767.

All the children were born in Olveston Gloucestershire.

Joseph Williams was attendance at James's death, his third son was called Joseph, but on the 1851 census James was living with son James and his family, but Olveston was a small place so the sons (daughter Mary went to the USA) could be in and out.

Was James senior a farmer do you know?

Bit tenuous but have found a James in 1841 who is a farmer aged 70 in Olveston with a James aged 35 - the son born 1801 rounded down a bit perhaps Question
Address looks like Tockington.
