Been rechecking my Williams family and apart from the 1871 census when the children have left home cannot find the family on any of the census.

Joseph Williams born 1806 Olveston Gloucestershire, parents James and Mary Williams. In 1838 Joseph marries Elizabeth Skinner. I have ordered a marriage certificate to confirm this.

Children

Emily Lavinia b 1839
Henietta Elizabeth b 1841
Francis Charles b 1844
James b 1849
Alicia Jane b 1852

Any help would be apreciated.

Interesting newspaper snippet on Ancestry from the Brisbane Courier 21 Jan 1899

protecting her earnings and property against her husband Thomas and his creditors

Has a death for her 1922 presumably in Australia - if this is the same family.

Well the family tree on Ancestry has her parents Joseph Williams and Elizabeth Skinner which matches what you have.

They must have emigrated before 1874 as tree has a son Robert John born Ipswich Queensland in 1874 and more children born after that.

George 1872 born England so that's a narrow window for emigration.

Thanks Tourmie, I have now something to work on.

What did you think about the marriage details of Arthur Lucas and Doris Willett?
