Rhoda Ford born approx 1844 Kingswood Bristol. Parents Thomas and Elizabeth. Found a marriage in 1867 on FreeBMD
"Marriages Dec 1867 (>99%)FORD Rhoda Clifton 6a 325"
to Samuel Pullin born 1848 Bristol.

Both are found on the 1871 and 1901 census. But where are they in between?

On the 1881 census I have come across Samuel Pullin, wife Rachel. Could the census be wrong?

On both the 1871 census and the 1881 census Samuel is a cabinet maker.
On both the 1881 census and 1901 census Samuel is living in the same road "17 Two Mile Hill" the only difference apart with being back with Rhoda again, is they are living at no 16. Samuel in 1901 is living on own means.

The only thing is that Rachel and Rhoda are different.

Any help would be appreciated.

So far, I've found a birth for a Rhoda Ford in Keynsham (reg district for Kingswood) in 1844, and a death for a 62yo Rhoda Pullin in Bristol in 1906.

Orf to check census records etc.

Well, the Rachel in 1881 is a year older than Samuel, which matches the 1871 census, and she's from Bitton which isn't a million miles from Kingswood, so "Rachel" could be a transcription error.

Orf to see if I can find them in 1891 now.

STG

Edited to say : Can' find them in 1891, nor Samuel in 1911 after Rhoda died. Sad

On the 1881 census there is a daughter, Lydia born 1871. On the 1891 census she marries Edgar James Love and is living with her in laws. They move back to Bristol ad their 3 children are born there.

Looking for Elizabeth Click in 1911 surprise surprise found her with a Samuel Pallin (but Pullin on original) 62 widower.
She is his housekeeper. Single aged 48.
Address 46 Charlton Rd Kingswood Bristol.

No luck either finding Samuel with Rhoda/Rachel in 1891.

Exclamation Oh just noticed that's the same address Lydia and Edgar were living in 1911 with their 3 children yet they are not on the same census page Surprised

Does that mean they both filled out seperate ones or what? *

* Edgar has filled out number of rooms as 3. Samuel has put 6 then crossed it out and put 3 so they must have been sharing the same house.

Having said that it doesn't look like Samuel has written "Charlton" to me even tho it has been transcribed as such - what do you think Question

They have changed from ancestry to find my past and found it straight away!

Have been repeating the address all the way home as didn't have pen and paper with me Laughing

3 Staple Hill Road

Hi Tourmie,

I have just viewed the 1911 census on ancestry and the address does not look all that clear on the orginal. Although my family come from Bristol I do not know it that well, maybe 3 Staple Hill Road
and Charlton are near or could it be the name of his house? No had a relook its 46 Charlton Rd. Although the 2 families are not together on the orginal 1911 census but giving the same address could be one family were just visitors? strange though.
