Tourmie wrote:A possible for Alfred in 1911 aged 38 single born Blackburn with pages of others as a "private" in Scalby Yorkshire.

As Alfred is in the Army (Private)1911 Hussars of the line? is there any Military information on him or this regiment

found this on GWF
There were several Hussars Regiment. 'Hussars of the Line' just refers to the regular Hussar units of cavalry

Alfred Anderson 18th Hussars record dated 1912

FTF thread tells me that he died in 1946 Sale Cheshire and FMP has his army records 10 pages.
He mentions Redrock Street, and Oakfield Road, and also brother Harold Albion Anderson.
It has his mothers name as Elizabeth but it is wrong, and no Father.
He attests in 1891(dont know what it means) and is also a groom?

I am awaiting further information.

If he intended to go to Oakfield Road or Redrock Street at discharge in 1912, then who would have been living there in 1911? These are streets where family had previously lived, why did he change to go to the veterans address in London.

Did he marry after discharge 1912.

Wow that is a lot of information study

There are plenty of AA marriages after 1912 but where or to who.
Did he have a middle name, something unusual like Albion would be helpful!

1914 W Derby Louisa Edwards
1917 Ripon Susannah Idison
1918 W Brom Liliam E Cole

Will see what else I can find.

17 Oakfield Road Everton in 1911 is a Mr Fiddes. 3 males 3 females.

Can't see any Andersons lurking with either of these families.

27 Redrock Street 1891 Isabella is living here, 1901 she is in Cupid Street,

Alfreds baptism record does not show a middle name.

I think Isabella died in 1909 and he may have lost touch with family and last known address was Redrock Street.

Isabella's sister also lived in the area at the time Jane Harrison married to Edmund Herd but I think Jane was widowed when she came to Liverpool. I think she once lived in Lombard Street same area as Isabella in 1881 census.

Just noticed "a deceased brother Harold" so Harold must have died before his discharge in 1912.
I wonder if Harold had been living at Oakfield Road prior to death

Harold is on the 1901 census so must have died between 1901 and 1912 last known Liverpool but free BMD does not have him, I will look on familysearch but they are not good for deaths.

Going off track but for info Jane was widowed between 1861 and 1871.

She is with mother Elizabeth and sister Isabella in 1861 and 1871.

Thats her I am in contact with Janes rellies and know that she married again but I can access her tree anytime, though Janes birth is as elusive as Lord Lucan her rellies cant find any trace of her birth even though they were Quaker births I have all the others as a contact sent them to me.

I think it may have been Alfred was going to reside with a family member but as both mother and Harold had died that is why he went to London.
I have opened the copy you sent me and I agree that does look good for Alfreds wife Louisa Edwards, she may have met him as a boarder from the looks of others in the house

I am thinking if I send for death of Isabella and Harold and the marriage of Alfred, I may learn a little of where they were living at the time of death, and who reported the deaths, also the Marriage of Alfred may have some value too, what do you think before I go ahead and order them.

Edna

Just saw your message about HAA it also looks possible as I dont think he married and maybe had an impediment good find Tourmie, was it in Prescot by any chance, Press Reader, I think an earlier census had him in the printing trade, his uncle Jonathan was a Printer Compositor

Wow can't believe that was the right one with just initials Laughing

I think the address was just Lancaster but will check again and send you the page with him on.

Certs are always risky but so exciting when they turn up and are the right people. I wonder which one would be the most productive? Which one are you most sure about - Isabella?

The Alfred marriage is out on a limb really, we don't know that is him. There is a tree with Louisa Edwards on but it just gives her parents no husband or anything useful.

I was thinking about the Anderson marriage would it be an idea to post a look up somewhere if anyone had access to the marriages for that area?
Just so you don't waste money getting the certificate if it is wrong and to get a heads up as it were.

Was worth a shot and at least you have the name of the church.

Are you going to contact them or just go for the certificate?
